Summary:PURPOSE:To provide a novel compound useful as an antithrombotic agent because of its action to inhibit platelet coagulation. CONSTITUTION:A compound of formula I (R1 is H, lower alkyl, halogen- substituted phenyl; R2 is H, substituted hydroxyalkyl, substituted aminoalkyl; R3 is H, halogen, nitro, hydroxyl, lower alkoxy, amino, etc.), for example, 5- phenyl-3,6-dihydro-1,3,4-oxadiazin-2-one. The compound of formula I is prepared by ring closure of a compound of formula II in a solvent such as DMF in the presence of metallic sodium, converting the resultant compound of formula III into a metal compound with sodium hydride or the like followed by reaction of the product with diethylaminoethyl chloride.
