Summary:PURPOSE:To prevent a crack from being generated even in a brittle material by working a stripe along the outer shape of a part to be pierced on a metal plate and providing a piercing punch to pierce the inside of this worked strip from this sheet plate. CONSTITUTION:A metal sheet 15 is set between a lower die 11 and an upper die 17, a stripper plate 24 presses and fixes the metal sheet 15 on the die element 14 of the lower die 11 through the lowering movement of the upper die 17 and a cutting edge part 22a of a stripe punch 22 presses the metal sheet 15. The stripe of the contour of the product is formed by this edge part 2a on the upper surface of the metal sheet. The metal sheet is fed one pitch toward the direction of an arrow A and the stripe part is positioned on the pierced hole 16. When the upper die 17 is lowered, the stripper plate 24 presses and fixes the metal sheet 15 on the die 14, when the piercing punch 21 cuts the metal sheet along the stripe in cooperation with a pierced hole 16. In this way, the material, even when it is brittle, can be pierced without generating a crack.
