Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain the marking method which facilitates the change of marking and features an excellent high-speed characteristic as the marking method easily applicable even to the case of intricate shapes of articles. CONSTITUTION:This laser marking method includes (1) a stage for coating a base material with an active energy ray curing type coating material contg. a heat sensitive material which is irreversibly discolored at 100 to 400 deg.C, (2) a stage for curing the coating film applied on the base material by irradiating the coating film with active energy rays and (3) a stage for partially irradiating the coating film with laser beams to discolor the irradiated part before or after the above-mentioned stage (4).
