Summary:PURPOSE:To enhance working efficiency by shortening time required for the discrimination of a graphic designated on a display device and to perform a graphic discrimination in a moving picture. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 1 stores graphics and the ID numbers in an ID number holding area 32 by corresponding them, and writes the ID numbers of graphics on the all positions of an ID buffer 4 corresponding to picture elements composing each graphic when the display data for displaying graphics is written in a video memory 6. When a graphic on a display device 9 is designated by a mouse cursor 9a, the CPU 1 reads the ID numbers of graphics from the ID buffer 4 by the designated coordinate position and discriminates graphics from the ID number holding area 32 based on the ID numbers.
