Summary:PURPOSE:To easily construct a multi-user system which is suitable at the time of processing a large-scale data base file. CONSTITUTION:The data base file 20 constituted of plural records containing respectively plural common fields, and a man-machine interface which is separated logically and physically from the data base file 20 and displays an object 25 in, at least, one window 24 on a display screen in order to process the data base file 20 in response to the operation of a user are provided. A stack 22 containing only display information to define the display form of the window 24 is provided in the man-machine interface, and a script 26 to generate a new node from the display information in the stack 22 and the data of the data base file 20 is provided in the stack 22 or the data base file 20, and the new node is generated automatically by retrieving the script 26 in prescribed order and executing automatically the script 26 retrieved first.
