Summary:PURPOSE:To reduce the manual work quantity of a maintenance man so as to overcome a fault accompanied by manual work by providing an automatic memory dump execution instruction mechanism giving an instruction to automati cally start a memory dump processing to a basic operation device when a system is down. CONSTITUTION:When system-down occurs, a system down detection mechanism 1 detects it, the automatic memory dump execution instruction mechanism 2 is started and the instruction is given to the basic operation device 21 so that the memory dump processing 3 is started. The basic operation device 21 generates interruption which cannot be masked to a system main body and starts the memory dump processing 3. It judges whether the processing is executed automatically or by a manual operation, and judges whether a memory dump output device is set or not. When it is set, memory dump is automatically extracted to the memory dump output device and a system waits for system reraising. Thus, a problem that there is an obstacle to the resumption of business when the system is down can be overcome.
