Summary: | PURPOSE:To readily obtain the subject compound as a germicide by carrying out a catalytic reduction of a mixture composed of a compound such as 3-(m- phenyloxy-phenyl)-2-methyl-2-propenyl aldehyde and another compound such as 2,6-dimethylmorpholine. CONSTITUTION:A compound of formula I (A is O or S, Y are same or different each other and H, halogen, 1-6C alkyl, 1-6C alkoxy, 1-6C haloalkyl or 1-6C haloalkoxy; n is 1-5) is mixed with another compound of formula II (R and R are same or different each other and H or 1-6C alkyl; X is methylene or O) and the resultant mixture is subjected to a catalytic reduction, thus obtaining the objective compound of formula III. In addition, the reaction is carried out using a catalytic reduction catalyst such as platinum, Raney nickel or palladium and the amount of the catalyst used is 0.00001-1mol based on 1mol compound of formula I. The reaction temperature is -20 deg.C to 200 deg.C, preferably 0 deg.C to 50 deg.C. |
