Summary:PURPOSE:To reduce the force required for an operator when a cassette is fitted or removed by operating a bottom plate pressing arm in the releasing direction or the pressing direction with the fitting/removing action of the cassette via a lever. CONSTITUTION:The pressing arm 12 of the bottom plate of a cassette is excited by the spring 8 of a coaxial pressing arm 7 in the pressing direction. When an inserted paper feed cassette 14 is to be removed, the rear end of the cassette 14 is lifted while the depth upper section serves as a fulcrum, the first lever 1 is pushed upward, and the pressing arm 7, 12 are rotated in the pressure releasing direction by gear trains 4, 5, 6 interlockingly. When the front end of the cassette 14 is separated from the third lever 3 to extract the cassette 14, the second lever pulled by a wire 10 is rotated by a spring 9 to be coupled with the first lever 1, and the pressing arm 12 is kept at the released state. The cassette 14 can be easily inserted or removed under this condition, when it is inserted to the depth, the third lever 3 is pressed and returned to the original position.
