Summary:PURPOSE:To eliminate noises at the time of ignition and still improve ignitability by setting the capacity of a capacitor and the inductance of an ignition transformer so as to make the peak value of the electric current and the time to hold the spark current in one spark at a discharge gap become larger than respective specified values. CONSTITUTION:An ignition device is designed so as to bring the time to hold the spark for ignition of a fan heater to a time longer than 50musec and the peak value of the spark current to a value over 140mA. Namely, for instance, in a circuit the inductance of the primary winding wire n1 of an ignition transformer T is set to 13.9muH, the inductance of the secondary winding n2 to 0.392muH, and the capacity of a capacitor C to 1.2muF. With this arrangement, in spite of the number of sparks set to one spark for one cycle of the commercial electric power source 1 it is possible to eliminate incomplete combustion of the fuel at the time of ignition.
