Summary: | PURPOSE:To improve the abrasion resistance and improve synchronism and release performance by forming a metal covered layer which is harder than a base metal and has at least the equal dynamic frictional coefficient on the contact surface with the opponent of a synchronizer ring for transmission. CONSTITUTION:A synchronizer ring 4 has an inner surface 1 for the repetition of the synchronous sliding and release with a tapered corn, key way 3 on the outer surface, and a chamfer 2 meshed with a hub sleeve. Cu-alloy is used as the base metal for the synchronizer ring. Ni - P covered layer is formed as a metal covered layer which is harder than a base metal and has a dynamic frictional coefficient of 0.1 or more and belongs to the equal metal group to the base metal is formed on the inner surface as the contact surface with an opponent. The covered layer is formed to an average film thickness of 0.1 - 100mum or so through the electroless plating. Accordingly, the abrasion resistance is improved, and the synchronism and release performance are improved. |
