Summary: | PURPOSE:To continuously extract CO2 from combustion flue gas by selectively separating and removing the moisture in combustion flue gas using a silica separation membrane and thereafter selectively separating and removing CO2 in the flue gas using a separation membrane which is permselective to CO2. CONSTITUTION:In a dehumidifying process A, the moisture contained in combustion flue gas 1 is selectively separated and removed using silica separation membranes (e.g. silica gel). Thereafter, in a CO2 separation process B, CO2 gas in the flue gas, from which the moisture have been removed, is selectively separated and removed using operation membranes permselective to CO2 gas (e.g. polyimide organic membrane). As a result, CO2 can continuously be extracted from a large quantity of combustion flue gas, wherein the pressure of the flue gas can be an atmospheric pressure. Further, the pressure on the exhaust side is an atmospheric pressure, while the pressure on the side of permeation is 200-300Torr; therefore pressure difference is small. |
