PURPOSE:To industrially and readily obtain new white mushrooms which are useful food mushrooms in a facility by inoculating a strain of white fruit bodies belonging to Lyophyllum ulmarium into a culture medium and forming the fruit bodies. CONSTITUTION:A strain of white fruit bodies belonging to Lyophyllum ulmarium is inoculated into a culture medium to form the fruit bodies and afford the objective mushrooms. Any strain, capable of forming the white fruit bodies and belonging to the lyophyllum ulmarium may be employed as the usable strain, e.g. a strain, found as the white fruit bodies during fungal bed artificial cultivation of Lyophyllum ulmarium M-8171 in KIJIMADAIRA Village, NAGANO Prefecture, purely separated from the aforementioned fruit bodies, subjected to tissue culture and named Lyophyllum ulmarium KW-8171 and a strain, similarly found and separated in IIYAMA City, NAGANO Prefecture and named Lyophyllum ulmarium IW-8171 are cited.
