PURPOSE:To set an actual irradiation time irrespective of an irradiation stop caused by opening and closing of a door, etc., in the course of erasure by adding an irradiation time required for correcting the decrease portion to a set time of a timer, in the case the irradiated ultraviolet-ray dosage decreases, based on a signal from an ultraviolet-ray sensor. CONSTITUTION:When an opening/closing door of a main body 1 is opened, a power source 6 is turned off by a switch 5 by a signal from a door opening/ closing sensor 9, and an ultraviolet lamp 4 is turned off, but since a timer 7 is interlocked to the switch 5 during this time, it is not measured. Also, when the ultraviolet lamp 4 becomes old and the ultraviolet dosage decreases, an ultraviolet-ray sensor 3 senses it, and a computing element 8 calculates the time for compensating the decrease and adds it to a set time of the timer 7. Subsequently, when the ultraviolet-ray irradiation by the set time is completed, it is displayed by an indicator. In such a way, it does not occur that the erasure becomes insufficient due to a decrease of the ultraviolet dosage.
