Summary: | PURPOSE:To improve the processing ability to form high-contrast images by developing an exposed photographic sensitive material by using a water-soluble alkaline developer specified in sulfite concn. and an automatic developing machine having a specified value or below of the opening rate of a developing section. CONSTITUTION:The exposed silver halide photographic sensitive material is developed by using the water-soluble alkaline developer having <= 0.3mol/l sulfite concn. and using the automatic developing machine having <= 0.03 opening rate of the developing section. Namely, the sulfite concn. of the water-soluble alkaline developer is confined to <= 0.3mol/l, by which the dissolution of silver halide is lessened and the silver contamination is lessened. The air oxidation is lessened by confining the opening rate of the developing tank section of the automatic developing machine to <=0.03. In addition, the performance stable against the fluctuation in the various processing environmental conditions is obtd. The processing ability to form the high-contrast images is improved in this way. |
