Summary:PURPOSE:To allow the user to enjoy a television pattern in response to the preference of the user by applying in-field signal processing to a high definition television signal being a demodulation output from a demodulation means and outputting a digital video signal available for the HDTV system, the EDTV system and the NTSC system. CONSTITUTION:A MUSE signal inputted from an input terminal 101 is demodulated into an analog signal whose band width is about 8MHz by a demodulation circuit 102 and converted into a digital signal at an A/D converter 103. A D/A converter 112 converts a 1125/30 luminance color difference signal into an analog signal corresponding to a high definition television display device. An in-field interpolation circuit 108 generates a scanning line having a gravity center of the EDTV system from the scanning line of the MUSE signal. A speed conversion processing circuit 109 applies speed conversion to the luminance color difference signal subject to the signal processing into an output corresponding to the 525/60 EDTV. Thus, the output corresponding to the high definition television system, EDTV and standard speed NTSC display devices is obtained in parallel simultaneously with the signal processing in the field only.
