Summary:PURPOSE:To facilitate underground work by placing foot-protection concrete in the bottom part of an excavation trench, and thereto by erecting guide piles at appropriate intervals, and also by tightenedly fixing tightening members to the foot-protection concrete and to the upper ends of the guide piles respectively. CONSTITUTION:Concrete (n) is placed in the bottom part of an excavation trench (m) to constitute foot-protection concrete 1, and before the concrete (n) is hardened, the lower parts of guide piles 2 are embedded in it to erect the piles 2 at appropriate intervals. Simultaneously with the erection of the piles 2, the fixing bodies 3a at the lower ends of respective tightening members 3 each of which has been housed inside the pile 2 are fixed to the concrete 1. Then, the upper end of each tightening member 3 is tightened by a tightening jack J to provide a prestress to the pile 2. And on the side surfaces of the pile 2, inserting grooves 2a for inserting sheet-piles 2b are provided. Thus, the strength by which the guide piles 2 resist against earth pressure can be obtained, and excavation can be carried out without requiring struts or the like.
