Summary:PURPOSE:To prevent resin from deforming and to reduce the loss of the connection between optical fibers by charging fused resin in the cavity of a metallic mold and then injecting high-pressure gas in the cavity. CONSTITUTION:A core pin 11 for optical fiber insertion formation and a reference pin 13 for positioning pin insertion hole formation are arranged at the specific positions of the two-split metallic mold 5 and the fused resin 20 is injected and charged in the cavity in the metallic mold 5. Then the high-pressure gas is injected through a capillary nozzle 23 communicated with the cavity 22 from outside the metallic mold 15 to apply pressure to the fused resin 22 and this pressure application data is maintained until the fused resin is cooled. Therefore, even when the internal fused part is solidified after the surface of the fused resin 20 is solidified, the surface solidified layer is cooled without being drawn inward. Consequently, the molding (ferrule) is not deformed, so neither a reference insertion hole 3 nor an optical fiber insertion hole 4 is deformed and the ferrule for the optical fibers which is small in the loss of the connection between the connected optical fibers can be manufactured.
