Summary:PURPOSE:To provide the method for writing bar codes which does not erase or deform the bar codes during the progression of a stage for a metallic work and has high reliability as the method for writing the bar codes on the surface of the metallic work. CONSTITUTION:A resin coating layer 10 consisting of a synthetic resin material is formed on the surface of the metallic work 20 subjected to mirror finishing by a plating layer 15 and thereafter, this resin coating layer 10 is selectively removed, by which bar code marks 1 formed of marking parts 2 and non- marking parts 12 varying in the reflectivity of rays from each other are formed in this part.
