PURPOSE:To position a slip ring on the upper turning body side while inhibiting projecting height to the upper turning body side by engaging the body of a swivel joint with the lower travelling body side and a spindle with the upper turning body side. CONSTITUTION:A swivel joint device connecting a hydraulic system and an electric system on the lower travelling body side and a hydraulic system and an electric system on the upper turning body side respectively has a cylindrical body 41 installed to a lower travelling body 1 and a spindle 42 engaged with an upper turning body 2. The swivel joint device also has a slip ring 43 having a body side contact 43b as a ring and a spindle side contact as a brush rotated slid relatively to the body side contact 43b and electrically connecting the body side contact 43b and the spindle side contact. The slip ring 43 is mounted to the upper section of the spindle 42, and the body side contact 43b of the slip ring 43 and the body 41 are coupled by a connecting member 44 inserted into a through-hole 42a.
