Summary:PURPOSE:To apply coating over the entire surface of an iron molding and to prevent the degradation in a rust preventive effect by tack welding an aluminum molding subjected to a chromate treatment and electrodeposition coating and the iron molding subjected to a chemical conversion treatment and electrodeposition coating, then coating these moldings. CONSTITUTION:A press-formed roof 71 of the body of an automobile formed by coupling the aluminum roof to the iron body 2 is subjected to the chromate treatment and the surface of the formed chromic acid film is subjected to the electrodeposition coating. On the other hand, the pressed body 2 is subjected to the chemical conversion treatment then to the electrodeposition coating, by which the coated film having excellent adhesion and rust prevention formed. The electrodeposition coated roof 1 is tentatively fixed into the aperture of the electrodeposition coated body 2 by using 4 pieces of the jigs 3. Both are then subjected to the coating while the roof 1 is held supported slightly apart from the aperture. The entire surface of the iron body 2 is subjected to the complete chemical conversion treatment and electrodeposition coating in this way, by which the rust preventive effect of the joint parts after the assembly with the roof 1 is enhanced and the durability thereof is improved.
