Summary:PURPOSE:To eliminate generation of jiggling in a photographed picture, and reduce a useless power consumption at the time of stroboscopic photographing without damaging a compensation function by compensating a hand jiggling generated at the time of release effectively and properly. CONSTITUTION:A hand jiggling generated in a camera at the time of release is detected by a jiggling sensor 6a. Detection data by the sensor 6a are sampled by a sampling circuit 6b, memorized in a memory 11, and inputted to a computation circuit 10, where next movement compensation data are computed. A movement compensation actuator 9 receives these movement compensation data and drives an optical member 5 for offsetting a movement of an image position in a film surface by the hand jiggling 2. Jiggling compensation is not necessary at the time of stroboscopic photographing, and the jiggling compensation action is prohibited in view of reducing power consumption.
