Summary:PURPOSE:To optimize the tentering quantity given to a strip-shaped body by a curved roller in an automatic and secure manner without necessitating any additional hands or special experiences even in a case where the carrying speed of the strip-shaped body changes in a tentering control device by means of a curved roller. CONSTITUTION:An optimum fitting angle for every carrying speed of a strip- shaped body is set beforehand to a fitting angle changing motor 31 which enables electrical changing of the fitting angle of a curved roller 10, and a fitting angle detecting device 41 which detects the fitting angle of the curved roller 10, and the curved roller 10 which modifies the change of the tentering quantity caused by the change in the carrying speed of the strip-shaped body. This tentering control device fitted with the curved roller 10 is provided with a fitting angle control device 51 to control the fitting angle changing motor 31 so that correction of the fitting angle of the curved roller may be realized on the basis of the present carrying speed of the strip-shaped body and the detected value of the fitting angle detecting device 41.
