Summary:PURPOSE:To simplify software and decrease the number of components by outputting the pattern of a cursor and the pattern of the frame of the cursor at the same time. CONSTITUTION:A read address arithmetic circuit 11 inputs data on the cursors frame and also inputs a signal indicating a cursor position from a cursor position register, and further inputs scan coordinates indicated with the counted value of a scan counter to generate an address for reading the data on the cursor in the scan coordinates and circumferential coordinates out of a pattern memory 40. Then an output control circuit 60 determines input data to input terminals A and B of a look-up table according to the data read out of the pattern memory 40 to control an output signal and output circuits 70 and 71 output the output signal in synchronism with a dot clock (timing clock for display on CRT). The pattern data on the cursor and the pattern data on the cursor frame are therefore outputted at the same time.
