PURPOSE:To insure light weight, high strength, and high tension, improve wave propagating speed, and reduce vibration sound and the like, by arranging a reinforcing core mainly formed out of carbon fiber inside the conductor part of a trolley wire formed out of electrically conductive metal, and constituting the trolley wire into composite construction. CONSTITUTION:A trolley wire is constituted into composite construction by arranging a reinforcing core 2 mainly formed out of carbon fiber inside the conductor part 1 of a trolley wire formed out of electrically conductive metal. In this case, the conductive metal is formed out of copper, aluminum, or alloy of these metal. The carbon fiber is formed out of long-fiber. Meanwhile, the reinforcing core 2 is formed by impregnating the carbon fiber with conductive metal. Further, the reinforcing core 2 is formed by gathering a plurality of elements which are bundles of carbon fiber coated with conductive metal on the circumference. Hereby, stringing of the trolley wire of light weight, high strength, and high tension can be performed, and improvement of wave propagating speed and decrease of vibration sound and wear can be attained.
