PURPOSE:To obtain aerobic bacteria decomposing organic compounds having high thermal resistance and chemical resistance, by installing a bacteria proliferation bed of a material with a wide surface in a water circulating passage for continuous cleaning of sewage water and warm water in a bath, etc., by means of the metabolism of bacteria and planting aerobic bacteria decomposing organic compounds on this proliferation bed. CONSTITUTION:When and apparatus for promoting metabolism of bacteria is applied to the cleaning of warn water in a bath, a water suction inlet equipped with a filter 1, immersed in a bath, is connected to the suction side of a pump 2. A proliferation bed 4 equipped with a filter 3 on the upstream end side of the bed is installed on the discharge side of a pump 2. The down stream side of the bed is connected to the bath by way of a water temperature regulator 5 and a pipe equipped with an air intake hose for mixing air into water. The proliferation bed 4 is composed by planting aerobic bacteria on a material with a wide surface. In the practice of operation, a prescribed amount of a culture solution containing aerobic bacteria decomposing organic compounds is added to the bath before use. By the operation of the apparatus, the bacteria are efficiently grown in the proliferation bed to eliminate the contamination in water in the bath.
