PURPOSE:To prevent video recording in a fog state at rapid zooming by disregarding the operation of a video recording start switch during the rapid zooming even when the video recording start is operated during the rapid zooming in the camcorder so as not to start the video recording. CONSTITUTION:A magnification means A magnifies a picture and a drive means B drives the magnification means A at a variable speed, a video recording means C record a video image, a recording control means D controls the video recording means C and a video recording inhibit means E inhibit video recording while the magnification means A is moved at a speed other than the usual available speed. Thus, even when the video recording start is operated during the rapid zooming, the operation of the video recording start is disregarded during the rapid zooming, the video recording is not started to prevent video recording in a fog state during the rapid zooming.
