Summary:PURPOSE:To transfer a coating layer without the deterioration of a working environment by a method wherein a transfer sheet provided with the coating layer on a base film is overlapped on a printed matter, the coating layer adheres to the printed matter under heat and pressure and, thereafter, the base film is released. CONSTITUTION:On a base film 3 made of a plastic film or the like, a transparent coating layer 4 using a thermoplastic resin, such as an acrylic resin and a vinyl resin, a thermosetting resin, such as a urethane resin and an epoxy resin, an ultraviolet-curing resin, such as a methyl methacrylate, or an electron beam-curing resin is formed by a gravure printing method. The transfer sheet 2 produced in such a manner is overlapped on a printed matter 1 so that the coating layer 4 is in contact with the printed matter 1, thereafter being heated and pressurized by using a heating roll, a heating plate, or the like, whereby the coating layer 4 adheres to the transfer object. After that, the coating layer 4 is transferred to the surface of the printed matter by releasing the base film 3. Then, a surface processing to the printed matter is completed.
