Summary:PURPOSE:To provide the recording and reproducing method which attains the higher density of the information of the optical recording medium controlled in photochemical reaction by temp. CONSTITUTION:The recording or reproducing of the information is executed by partially superposing a part A having the prescribed temp. of the optical recording medium and a spot B of light of a specific wavelength to induce the photochemical reaction at the prescribed temp. and generating the photochemical reaction only in this superposed part. More particularly the above-mentioned medium is irradiated with light for heating as means for heating the medium to the prescribed temp. separately from the above-mentioned light of the specific wavelength so that either of the spots of these two light rays is precedent no one other.
