Summary:PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for an additive/subtractive conversion means in the case of digital carrier transmission by providing a changeover device to a recovered carrier synchronization circuit. CONSTITUTION:The receiver is provided with a control signal generating circuit 6 processing an output signal of A/D converters 3,4 to generate a control signal for a voltage controlled oscillator 8, and a changeover device 7 switching the connection between the control signal generating circuit 6 and the voltage controlled oscillator 8 in response to the switching signal outputted from a reception signal processing section 5. Since the case of correct frame synchronization is distinguished from other cases by observing the synchronization state of a frame by the reception signal processing section 5, a switching signal (j) is generated by utilizing the principle. The switching signal (j) generated in this way is given to the changeover device 7, which controls the voltage controlled oscillator 8 while setting an output signal (g) equal to a signal (f) and gives a constant output signal (g) to the voltage controlled oscillator 8 in other cases. Thus, the phase synchronization state of the recovered carrier is set to a phase in which a signal is correctly sent at all times.
