Summary:PURPOSE:To discriminate a changed external device to correctly perform the corresponding processing at the time of changing the external device connected to an input/output interface. CONSTITUTION:Discriminating means 5d and 60b which discriminate the difference of the external device connected to an input/output interface 5 and an execution processing switching means 1 which discriminates the connected external device based on the discrimination result of discriminating means and executes the processing corresponding to the external device are provided. Consequently, the connected printer is automatically judged to be a serial printer or a parallel printer to perform the correct processing corresponding to the connected printer.
