Summary: | PURPOSE:To secure such an energy absoring system that keeps an amount of energy absorption constant with that of displacement in a simple and lightweight structure so easily, by having an expansion pipe pressed in an energy absorbing pipe by means of load duty, thereby expanding this energy absorbing pipe wide enough. CONSTITUTION:In an energy absorbing system 10, an expanding part 4a of an expansion pipe 4 with a larger outer diameter than the inner diameter of an energy absorbing pipe 3 is fitted in an inner diametral part 3a of the energy absorbing pipe 3. On the other hand, a lower end of the pipe 3 is pierced through a through hole 5a of a lower plate 5. In succession, an upper plate 6 is mounted on an upper end of the expansion pipe 4, thereby making load P act on in the axial direction. If so, the energy absorbing system 10 is compressed, and the expansion pipe 4 expends the energy absorbing pipe 3 wide enough for energy absorption. At this time, the energy absorbing pipe 3 is molded with a glass fiber impregnated with rubber or the like by means of a filament winding process, and a tensile elongation percentage should be set to more than 8%. |
