PURPOSE:To improve the durability of a water-repellent film composed of a coating layer of silicon oxide formed on the surface of a glass substrate and a water-repellent layer of silicone or fluorosilicone formed on the surface of the coating layer. CONSTITUTION:A two-layered structure composed of a first layer 2a and a second layer 2b is rendered to a coating layer 2. The first layer 2a is made dense and the second layer 2b is made porous. A water-repellent layer 3 is allowed to penetrate into the second layer 2b and the first layer 2a is tightly stuck to a glass substrate 1.
