Summary:PURPOSE:To prevent generation of cavitation so as to improve reliability by providing a float vertically movable in accordance with the fluctuation of the cooling water level in a float chamber and a seal member for closing between a connection port and the float moved downward. CONSTITUTION:A radiating heat exchanger 2 for engine cooling water and an auxiliary tank 3 connected to a water supply port 9a of this heat exchanger 2 are provided. There are provided between these water supply port 9a and auxiliary tank 3 a pressure valve 7 opened when a pressure in a cooling water passage 4 is increased to a preset pressure higher than the atmospheric pressure or more and a negative pressure valve 8 opened when the pressure is decreased lower than the atmospheric pressure. An air vent valve 20 is provided in the highest position of a cooling water pipe 4, having a rise/fall, connecting an engine 1 to a heat exchanger 3. This air vent valve 20 opens/closes an air discharge port 25 by a float 23 vertically moved by fluctuating a cooling water level in a float chamber 22. In the case of moving the float 23 downward by contracting the cooling water due to a temperature fall, air is prevented from advancing into the cooling water pipe from a connection port 21 by a seal member 30.
