Summary:PURPOSE:To prevent the carry over of DO by the back flow from an aerobic tank to an anaerobic tank and to obtain the high-performance treating device by providing a water level difference between the adjacent anaerobic tank and aerobic tank in such a manner that the water level on the upstream side is higher than the water level on the downstream side. CONSTITUTION:The water which is to be treated and is subjected to an anaerobic treatment by the aerobic tank 2 is introduced through an elbow-shaped water pass pipe 2a to the aerobic tank 3. The opening end of the water pass pipe 2a is immersed into the liquid in the aerobic tank 3. The treated water subjected to an aerobic treatment is similarly introduced through the water pass pipe 3a positioned lower than the water pass pipe 2a into the anaerobic tank 4. The water to be treated is introduced through the water pass pipe 4a positioned lower than the water pass pipe 3a into the aerobic tank 5. The back flow of the liquid mixture from the aerobic tank which is one of the causes for the carry-over of the DO to the anaerobic tank is prevented and the efficient removal of nitrogen and phosphorus is executed by assuring the sufficient anaerobic state according to this device.
