Summary: | PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of objectionable noise in a drive system with ease and at a low price by arranging a viscosity joint or 2WD/4WD change-over device between particular sections, and installing a universal joint so that both propeller shafts on front and rear sides may rotate with the identical phase kept. CONSTITUTION:In a four-wheel drive vehicle 20, the rotational driving force of an engine 1 is transmitted to a chain 14 in a transfer 3 through a gear 2a in a transmission 2, and to a rear propeller shaft 5 through a universal joint 8. In a front wheel drive system, a viscosity joint 22 is provided between a universal joint 6 on the output side of a front propeller shaft 4 and a front differential unit 10. Assembling the universal joints 6-9 is performed in an assembling factory so that the change of angular speed in the front propeller shaft 4 and the rear propeller shaft 5 may be canceled each other to make the phase difference in the angular speed change of both the propeller shafts 5, 6 zero, or the same. |
