PURPOSE:To prevent instruction of carburizing gas into the part where a seal is inserted and to enable partial carburization by inserting the seals having expandability and heat resistance between each mating face of plural steel-made worked materials, and applying the carburizing treatment. CONSTITUTION:On each mating face of the steel-made disk gears 3, 4, 5, 6, the graphite sheets 7, 8, 9 having expandability and heat resistance is laid, respectively. A bolt 1 is passed through each of hollow parts of the gears 3, 4, 5, 6 and fastened with a nut 2, and gaps of the gears 3, 4, 5, 6 are sealed with the graphite sheets 7, 8, 9 under compressive condition. At the time of applying the carburizing treatment to the gears 3, 4, 5, 6 in the high temp. carburizing gas atmosphere, the bolt 1 is heat-expended and the graphite sheets 7, 8, 9 are expanded correspondingly but the sealing function is not impaired. By this method, formaiton of the carburizing layer on the parts 3a, 4a, 5a, 6a desired to be formed with the carburizing layer is prevented, and the pertial carburization can easily be executed at a low cost.
