Summary:PURPOSE:To prevent running condition and exhaust composition from degrading due to variation of air fuel ratio by providing a barrier means such as a controlling valve in an intake path so that liquid film-like fuel clinging to and flowing on the inner wall surface of the intake path under the low load condition is atomized and mixed into an intake flow. CONSTITUTION:When a throttle valve 9 is fully closed in idling to increase negative pressure in an intake path 7, air in a surge tank 21 is sucked out through an air path 22. Negative pressure in a negative pressure operating chamber 19 of an actuator 18 is thereby increased with slow speed, so that a piston 15 is moved upward against a compression spring 17. A clamp arm 14 is thereby rotated left and a controlling valve 12 is moved to a vertical position to close the lower half of the intake path 7. Thus, most of liquid film- like fuel is stopped by a controlling valve 12 and rises to the upper edge along the controlling valve 12 to be accelerated and atomized by an intake flow so that it is well mixed with intake and flows from an intake valve 4 into a combustion chamber 3 to be burnt under a satisfactory condition.
