Summary:PURPOSE:To enhance the maneuvering performance by determining the crosswise acceleration from the steering amount, also calculating the crosswise acceleration from the off-driving wheels and their tread, and lowering the target driving speed from the linear condition by the amount corresponding the difference on the basis of these crosswise acceleration values. CONSTITUTION:Supply and exhaust of the pressure to/from the pressure chamber 44 of an actuator 41 to move a throttle lever 24 is controlled by a normally closed solenoid valve 51 and a normally open solenoid valve 56, and thus torque reducing means is formed. An ECU 15 calculates the target drive wheel speed according to the target slip ratio, and solenoid valves 51, 56 are controlled so that the actual speed of the drive wheels will becomes its target value. Therein the steering amount is sensed, and the crosswise acceleration to be generated on the car is determined, and the crosswise acceleration applied to the car is calculated from the difference in the peripheral linear velocity between the off-driving wheels and their tread, and on the basis of these crosswise accelerations a correction is conducted in the direction of lowering the target drive wheel speed. The correction amount for the crosswise acceleration shall be set smaller for the former crosswise acceleration value than the latter.
