Summary:PURPOSE:To nicely carry out cooling of the inside of a car cabin by equipping a car airconditioner not only with a main cooling unit but also with an aux. cooling unit, which is fed with a refrigerant from a variable capacity compressor to change the discharge capacity of the refrigerant provided in the main unit, and thereby cooling even the aux. unit side if request is placed from a driver or passenger. CONSTITUTION:An airconditioner for a car according to the present invention comprises a main control unit 30 to change the cooling performance of a main cooling unit 2 and a sub control unit 31 to change the cooling performance of an aux. cooling unit 3. Men a signal is issued by the sub control unit 31 indicating that the cooling request on the aux. unit 3 side is large, the discharge capacity of a variable capacity compressor 25 is adjusted in conformity to the signal from the sub control unit 31 in priority to the control by the main control unit 30.
