PURPOSE:To obtain a cargo handling vehicle having the capability of handling a wheeled transportation vessel and performing other various types of transportation. CONSTITUTION:In a cargo handling vehicle 1 for handling a transportation device 30 fitted with wheels 23, a clamp device 15 is so provided on a vehicle body 2 as to be freely liftable. The clamp device 15 has a body clamp arm 19 freely detachable to a device body, and an axle clamp arm 23 freely detachable from an axle 33. The transportation device 30 fitted with the wheels 23 can be handled by the combined operation of a vehicle body travel, the vertical motion of the clamp device 15 and clamp motion. According to the aforesaid construction, transportation over a long distance such as freight or marine transportation can be efficiently and economically carried out. The dislocation of the transportation device 30 from the clamp device 15 can be prevented by engaging a part of the clamp section with the axle 33, thereby ensuring stable cargo handling at all times.
