PURPOSE: To obtain the subject pharmaceutical preparation capable of raising the solubility of a pharmacodynamically effective ingredient in water and maintaining a suitable blood level by formulating a sparingly water-soluble substituted benzoylphenylurea with an N-substituted pyrrolidinone solvent and a specific nonionic surfactant, etc. CONSTITUTION: This pharmaceutical preparation for exterminating ectoparasites in warm-blooded animals is obtained by formulating (A) a compound represented by formula I [R1 and R2 are each H, F, Cl, Br, CH3 , OCH3 or SCH3 ; (i) RX is Cl ; RY is OR3 (R3 is a halo-1-7C alkyl or a halo-3-7C cycloalkyl); RZ is Cl, (ii) RX is represented by formula II (R4 is H or CH3 ); RY is H, CH3 , F, Cl or Br; R2 is H or (iii) RX is H; RY is Cl; R2 is H] with (B) an N-substituted pyrrolidinone solvent, e.g. N-methyl-2-pyrrolidinone, (C) an ester of a polyethylene glycol and (D) a nonionic surfactant selected from an ethoxylated ester of a fatty acid or a triglyceride. The amounts of the formulated ingredients are 0.1-25wt.% ingredient A, 5-25wt.% ingredient B, 30-60wt.% ingredient C and 20-60wt.% ingredient D.
