Summary:PURPOSE:To make a sealed type lead acid storage battery with less penetration of water vapor and less self-discharging by turning fluoric that inside of a cap-shaped valve element which is in contact with a cylindrical opening provided in a battery jar, wherein the cap-shaped valve element is to be combined with the cylindrical opening, and coating the part with fluoric resin. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical opening 4 in the battery jar of a sealed type lead acid storage battery is coated with silicone oil 3, and the inside of a cap- shaped valve element 1 made of chloroprene rubber is turned fluoric by hydrogen fluoride, over which polytetrafluoroethylene 2 as fluoric resin is sprayed followed by baking process, and thus a check valve is accomplished, which is fitted in place. The coating thickness of this fluoric resin shall preferably be 10-20mum in average. A battery of this construction presents less decrease in the weight after long time storage and less self-discharging accordingly.
