Summary:PURPOSE:To facilitate mechanization and automation of the assembly of a circuit board by a method wherein the assembly facility scores of an index to show the facility of assembly of components and the board are found and the estimated values of the assembly times of the components and the board and the estimated values of the assembly costs of the components and the board are calculated on the basis of these scores. CONSTITUTION:Various mounting operations are classified in several tens of kinds of basic elements, a reference element of a basic element to be used as a reference, such as a downward movement mounting in a reference state, is decided from among the basic elements and a basic demerit mark set in such a way that the degree of the relative difficulty of each basic element to the reference element is shown with an increase in a component mounting time and a component mounting cost as an increase in a demeric mark is given to each basic element. This basic demerit mark given to each basic element in each component is corrected by a correction element, whereby a component assembly facility score is calculated. The mounting time in processes, which are involved in the manufacture of a circuit board, is calculated using the values of these assembly facility scores and the number of components and the mounting times and mounting costs for already-existing products and components. Moreover, a factory reference mounting time is corrected according to a difference between an automatic mounting and a manual mounting in the manufacture of the board and a calculation of the estimated assembly process of the board is conducted.
