Summary:PURPOSE:To measure the flow at an arbitrary place by irradiating a rotary body having a radiation optical fiber provided thereto with laser beam and detecting the reflected beam to subject the same to signal processing. CONSTITUTION:The laser beam from a laser beam source is guided to a transmission optical fiber 22 by a manipulator 23. An incident end 33 is arranged at the opposed position of the transmission optical fiber 22 fixed to an adaptor 31 and a fixed radiation optical fiber 32 is placed at the center of a rotor 5. Laser beam is emitted into a flow path to be measured from the radiation end of the other end of the fiber 32. Scattering particles are mixed with a fluid 7 and a sheet-shape radiation optical fiber is bonded to a rotary blade 4 and beam is allowed to be incident to the said fiber in a sheet shape centering around the cross section of the blade and the generated scattering beam 14 is collected from a measuring window 8 to be analyzed by a processing apparatus 21. By this method, laser beam is emitted to the arbitrary place in a rotary body to make it possible to measure flow.
