Summary:PURPOSE:To prepare the subject composition little in skin irritation and useful as an intermediate material for resin coatings by reacting a composition comprising a specific compound with (meth)acrylic acid in the presence of a catalyst. CONSTITUTION:A composition comprising a compound of formula I (Ra, Rb are H, methyl, ethyl; c is 4-8; n is 1-10) is reacted with (meth)acrylic acid in the presence of a catalyst (preferably p-toluene sulfonic acid) to provide the objective compound.
