Summary:PURPOSE:To equalize the composition of a printed-out document and a document displayed on a CRT display device by providing a printer with a reception means and a picture processing means which processes and corrects the font pattern of a print object so that a character frame coincides with the form indicated by received character frame information. CONSTITUTION:A printer 1200 is provided with a reception means 1210 which receives transmitted character frame information and a picture processing means 1220 which processes and corrects the font pattern of the print object so that the character frame coincides with the form indicated by received character frame information. Information indicating the form of a display character frame used on a display device 1100 is transmitted to the printer 1200, and the font pattern is so processed and corrected that it coincides with the form of the character frame on the side of the printer 1200. Thus, the composition of the printed character picture coincides with that of the display character picture on the display device.
