Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain the desired candidate without necessitating the next candidate selecting operation at the time of inputting the same word by outputting preferentially a KANJI (Chinese character) and KANA (Japanese syllabary) mixed string corresponding to plural pieces of KANAs as a conversion candidate, and selecting a candidate from the conversion candidate. CONSTITUTION:A Roman letters/KANA converting part 104 refers to a Roman letters/KANA correspondence table 102 and a Roman letters/KANA learning table 103 and converts preferentially Roman letters to plural KANAs. Subsequently, a KANA KANJI converting part 106 retrieves a word dictionary 105 with respect to plural KANA character-strings converted preferentially by the Roman letters/KANA converting part 104, and executes an attached work processing as a sentence clause to the retrieved word. Next, a candidate recognized as the sentence clause is outputted to an output part 107 in order of priority, and an operator selects a desired candidate through a candidate selecting part 108. In such a way, at the time of inputting the same word, the desired candidate can be obtained without necessitating the next candidate selecting operation.
