Summary:PURPOSE:To properly arrange and display text information in an area by reducing the size of the text information by one stage when characters entered into a text frame overflows and employing the size of the text information as the size of the text frame when the characters do not overflow. CONSTITUTION:The text frame is set on a bit map display 1 arranged in a display control circuit, characters are arranged therein, and whether or not characters overflow into the area outside the frame is detected. When the characters overflow, character intervals, for example, are adjusted to increase the number of characters 46 entered into the text frame 31. Further, line intervals are adjusted to increase the number of lines 47 put in the text frame 31. Or paragraph intervals 48 are narrowed down to increase the number of paragraphs 49 put in the text frame 31. Consequently, the text information can properly be arranged in the text frame.
