Summary:PURPOSE:To discriminate normal or defective of the quality during casting process by using operation factors, and developing ratio of casting defect and this permissible defective limit as the reference values in die casting and actually measuring and comparing the operational factor during actual casting. CONSTITUTION:At the time of casting molten metal by pressurize-filling up the molten metal into a die from an injection sleeve with an injection plunger, each operation factor of die temp., gas pressure in die cavity, molten metal pressure in the die cavity, injection sleeve temp., injection plunger operating temp. and injection plunger displacement, is measured. On the other hand, relation between casting defect, i.e., shrinkage blow, involving hole, water leakage, mixture of oxide, foreign matter and rapid cooling layer, misrun, etc., and the operation factor is beforehand obtd. and the permissible defect limit is decided as the reference value. The above operation factor is measured during the actual casting operation and compared with the reference value and normal or defective of the products is discriminated during the casting process.
