Summary:PURPOSE:To offer an electric heating device able to efficiently apply estimative pres sure and electric pressure in one process by positioning while bringing supporting electrodes into close contact with the outer surfaces of steel bars or the like by a synchronous mechanism at the time of carrying current while separately clamping the outer surfaces of the steel bars or the like by their respective supporting electrodes from thre points or more. CONSTITUTION:An electric heating device is constituted of a base table 1, supporting electrodes 2 to 4 clamping a steel bar S in the centripetal direction, and a plurality of driving cylinders 5, 5 separately moving at least the right and left supporting electrodes 2, 3, and a synchronous mechanism 6 simultaneously moving the supporting electrodes 2, 4. The supporting electrodes each move toward the outside shaft core direction of the steel bar or the like to be electrically heated by a prescribed stroke by the synchronous mechanism 6. By means of the synchronous mechanism, the electrodes come in close contact with the surface of the steel bar S or the like uniform ly and orthogonally to be in a preparatory pressure state. Bing positioned in the preparatory pressure state, later the supporting electrodes strongly and uniformly apply regular pressure to the surface of the steel bar or the like by driving of the driving cylinders 5, 5 and an impression current is conducted from the supporting electrodes to the steel bar or the like.
